The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Chex (shelter #140545). This handsome, strapping gentleman is a one year old American Pit Bull Mix. He is an active guy who loves to run and play. Chex does jump six foot fences so he will need to be supervised and on leash when outside. He would love to go jogging, hiking or on for long walks with you. Chex loves to play with toys, is crate trained and knows many tricks. He has lived with children in a previous home, but he is most likely too energetic for smaller children. He will need a cat free home as he thinks they are a toy and something to chase. Chex came to us from the Family Dogs New Life Shelter through our Second Chance Program so that we could help him find his forever home. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 to 7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 to 9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption time ends one half hour prior to closing each day.

Chex's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
