The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Carl (Shelter #108564). He is a handsome three year old Australian Shepherd mix who is searching for his forever home. He is an active fellow looking for a home that will take him on adventures and daily exercise. Carl still needs work learning all his manners, like keeping all four feet on the ground when greeting people. He would benefit greatly from a Reactive Rover class such as the one offered here at the Oregon Humane Society. We recommend that Carl go to a home with older children. He will also need to be the only pet in the home because he does not enjoy sharing his space. He also should go to a home with a secured fence. Carl will make a great companion for someone who has the time to work on his training and give him a good outlet for all his energy. A training consultation is included prior to his adoption. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.

Carl’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
