The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Charlie Bucket (122580). He is a two year old Newfoundland - Landseer weighing in at 108 pounds! He loves people and is always wagging his tail. Charlie has lived with cats and children and has done well with both. He also has done well with dogs but due to his size and exuberance may be too much for some other dogs. Charlie is housetrained most of the time but may need a little help remembering not to mark indoors. With a little work and encouragement he should learn the rules soon! Charlie is a really strong boy and so continued training will help him learn to walk well on a leash, as well as helping him bond more closely with his new companions. One of Charlie's favorite things is swimming! He loves being near the water and jumping in for a dip. Charlie is ready and waiting to meet his new favorite people! If you have a resident canine a pet meet is essential prior to adoption. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday - Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday - Saturday. Adoption services end one half hour prior to closing each day.
Charlie's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! .
