The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Charles (120988). He is a two year old Bichon Frise mix who is looking for a warm lap to lie on. Charles takes a little time to trust new people in new places, but give him a few minutes and he'll be your best friend. He really does enjoy getting out and about for daily bouts of exercise and play. A Basic Manners class, like those offered here at OHS, would help further boost hia confidence in new situations. Charles gets along OK with dogs outside my home but Ihe doesn't like to share space so will do best as the only dog in the home. He came to OHS through their Second Chance Program from the Baldwin Park L.A. Shelter to find his new best friend! You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm Sunday though Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm Thursday through Saturday. Adoption hours end one half hour prior to closing each day.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!
