Bubba: Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day

Bubba: Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day

Bubba is a senior citizen that would do well in a home with breed experienced owners, or ones with sled dog experience. At this stage of his life he is not ready to be over handled so needs a home with adults or much older children that show him respect. We don't have much history about Bubba, but a training consult is a part of the adoption process. Come meet this dignified and handsome fellow today at the Oregon Humane Society!

The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Bubba. He is a nine year old Chinook mix and is a sweet fellow but is a sensitive gentleman that is weary of over-handling, especially around his face. He may not be the best idea for the first-time dog owner due to his sensitivity and breed. Bubba will do best in an adults-only home, or one with much older kids who can respect his space. He seems to just want to be ready for a life of retirement. Bubba came from Clackamas County Dog Control to us through our Second Chance Program. A training consultation is included prior to his adoption to assist his new family in understanding his needs and how to help him adapt to his new family. You can meet with Bubba at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are Sun-Wed 10-7; Thurs-Sat 10-9. Adoption hours are Sun-Wed 10-6:30; Thurs-Sat-10-8:30. His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance and plenty of post adoption support. Availability is subject to prior adoption. Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club located at 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know to know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. Oregon Humane Society dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Cats are also available for adoption here; all cats live in "colony rooms" with their fellow felines. Adoption and viewing hours for both dogs and cats are 10-6 on Monday- Friday; and 9-4 on Saturday-Sunday. Our special continues of adopt any adult cat or kitten and take home a second cat or kitten FREE! Perhaps the most rewarding reason for adopting two cats instead of one is knowing that you've given the gift of life, love and happiness to not just one but TWO cute cats. Adopt a pair and be a hero to two new friends. Every Tuesday the Oregon Humane Society offers an adoption special for people age 60 and up. A select group of 20 pets will be available for adoption to seniors at no charge every Tuesday. All other pets will have their adoption fees reduced by $50 when they are adopted by individuals over 60 on Tuesday.
