The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Brutus. He is a two year old Rat Terrier mix that is full of life and likes to play with his owner and his toys. He is finding himself needing a new home as his family had to move and couldn’t have pets in their new home. He will do best in a home with older children who can understand to give a pet time and space of their own. Brutus is ready to accompany he owner on walks and then when returning home to join them on the couch. In his past home he had the privilege of sleeping on the bed at night. Brutus will still need assistance with his house training. A training consult is included prior to his adoption to help his family in a smooth transition to a new living situation.

You can meet with Brutus at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are Sun-Wed 10-7; Thurs-Sat 10-9. Adoption hours are Sun-Wed 10-6:30; Thurs-Sat-10-8:30. His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance and plenty of post adoption support. Availability is subject to prior adoption.

Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club located at 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know to know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. Oregon Humane Society dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Cats are also available for adoption here; all cats live in "colony rooms" with their fellow felines. Adoption and viewing hours for both dogs and cats are 10-6 on Monday- Friday; and 10-4 on Saturday-Sunday.
