Bruiser is big fellow and any children in the family need to be old enough enough to deal with his size. He likes people and will need lots of exercise and to learn about being an indoor pet!

The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Bruiser. He is a one  year old Plott Hound/ Labrador mix who is a happy-go-lucky guy who loves to romp and play. He will need daily exercise and lots of activities to keep him busy. Bruiser has been mostly an outside guy and will need someone to teach him how to be inside. He is a happy guy who loves to be with people and loves attention. He will need to go to a home with older children who can handle his size, eighty pounds, and his energy level. He cannot go a home with chickens or cats. We are not sure how well he would do with a canine friend, and a pet meet would be essential prior to adoption. We often find than another dog will help a new one learn the ropes about being an inside pet as well as provide an outside playmate. Bruiser could like to go on long hikes, jogging, or maybe take up agility training as he has lots on energy to burn. He came from the Klamath Falls Humane Society through the Second Chance Program. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 to 7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 to 9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions hours end one half hour prior to closing each day.

The adoption fee includes neuter, microcuip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy Veterinarina exam and plenty of post adoption support. Availability is subject to prior adoption.
