The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Berkley (shelter #134853. This elderly gentleman just wants to be your best companion and sit by your feet when you are feeling lonely.  He would be happy in a quiet home where he can just hang out as he’s not the needy type. But he does want to be with you, just not in your lap! He likes to be petted, but not hugged so he will need a home with older children only as he is in his senior years and doesn’t like a lot of noise and movements. Don't pass him up because of my age as he still loves going on walks! Provide him with a stroll around the blocks and a comfy bed, and he will be the perfect companion. A training consult is included prior to his adoption.

You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption time ends one half hour prior to closing each day. His fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support
Who wants to go to the mall during the busiest shopping day of the year? Instead, come to the Oregon Humane Society and get 50 percent off the adoption fee of any black or predominantly black adult pet on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving.  You can adopt Berkley as a part of this promotion!
The Black Friday sale begins at 10:00 am on Friday Nov. 23 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 25. You'll find a huge selection of adult animals one year old and older in all ages and breeds.
