The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of Day is Belka. She is a sweet older gal searching for her forever home. If you are looking for an easy going girl to be by your side Belka might be the one for the job. This beauty has lived outside only in her previous home so she is looking for a patient owner who will show her the benefits of indoor living. We recommend older kids to be around Belka because she enjoys having her own space and prefers not to be fussed with. Belka cannot go home with any kind of birds and we advise her not being with small animals as well. If Belka has tugged at your heart strings be sure to get to know her a little better. She is bonded with Misha (#149998) and needs to go home with him. Misiha is an easy going fellow who has gotten along with multiple other dogs. The adoption fee includes both dogs. Their adoption fees includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance and plenty of post adoption support!

Meet with them at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat. Availability is subject to prior adoption.

Every Tuesday the Oregon Humane Society offers an adoption special for people age 60 and up. A select group of 20 pets will be available for adoption to seniors at no charge every Tuesday. All other pets will have their adoption fees reduced by $50 when they are adopted by individuals over 60 on Tuesday.

Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside at Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland 503-327-8219 . If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Here they romp and play all day with the other dogs in doggy daycare so they might be a great fit with your canine family members! Cats are also available at this location. They live in “colony” rooms with fellow felines. The Oregon Humane Society’s Adoption Special of two cats/kittens for the adoption fee of one continues until further notice.  Visiting and adoption hours for dogs and cats are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.
