Isn't this the face that says "Please give me a new home with lots of slow walks with time for sniffing"? Bailey loves spending time with her people at home as well as going on walks! If you love hounds she could be the one for you! Visit her at the Oregon Humane Society!

The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Bailey. She is a ten year old hound dog down to her very soul and is looking for a home that meets all her hound-y needs. She needs someone who is looking to go on long walks and allow her to do what she does best, sniff! Walks should be on leash though since hounds will follow their noses right out of sight! Bailey gets very excited for walks but in general she is a pretty laid-back gal. She enjoys being a couch potato just as much as she likes going for walks. She is smart as can be, she knows a few basic commands and is eager to learn more. She has a good history with cats and she would prefer a home with older kids or just adults. If you love hounds, floppy ears, leisurely walks (as you know sniffing takes time!) and furry snuggles, then Bailey might be the right gal for you. Come meet her today! You can visit with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed; and 10-9 on Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed; and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat.

Bailey’s adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.

The Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located at 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland also has dogs and kittens for adoptions. The dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit!
