The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Betina (121523).  She is a sweet little four year old Dachshundl who is looking for a new lap and a new place to call home.  She is affectionate and loves to play with her favorite people but she does sometimes feel the need to be protective of her person and territory and for this reason she might be best as the only pet.  Also she will need to be with older dog savy children who can respect her needs.   Betina is sensitive to cold and rainy weather and may need extra help and patience with her housebreaking.  If you have a resident canine friend there will need to be a pet meet prior to adoption.  You can meet with Betina at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722.  Visiting hours are 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday.  Adoption hours end one half hour prior to closing each night.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!  Availability is subject to prior adoption.
