The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Ava. She is a lovely lady that is looking for a special home. She can be wary around new people and especially men. Ava will need a quiet home with slow introductions to new people. Because of her shy nature Ava may do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children that can respect her space and understand her needs. Ava will need to slowly expand her world and be introduced to new places slowly. While going on new adventures and on her daily outings Ava will need to remain on leash at all times. Ava ejoys chasing cats a lot so she will need to go to a cat free home. Ava can also be picky with other dogs. Once Ava is comfortable around her people she is very loving and loves to play. A training consultation is included PRIOR to Ava's adoption to further explain her needs. You can meet with her at at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland. Visiting hours are 10-7 on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10-9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day. Ava has aspecial adoption fee of $50 through closing on Friday, January 18th.

The adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption
