Ava is a lovely German Shepherd mix. She will need a quiet home, once she is comfortable she will begin to bond with her people. She loves to play! Ask to see her at the front desk as she is in the Orange room.

The Oregon Humane Society's dog of the day is Ava (shelter #140503). She is a lovely one year old German Shepherd mix that is looking for a special home. She can be wary around new people and especially men. Ava will need a quiet home with slow introductions to new people. Because of her shy nature Ava may do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children that can respect her space and understand her needs. Ava will need to slowly expand her world and be introduced to new places slowly. While going on new adventures and on her daily outings Ava will need to remain on leash at all times. Once Ava is comfortable around her people she is very loving and loves to play. A training consultation is included prior to Ava's adoption to further explain her needs. You can meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Visiting hours are 10 to 7 Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 to 9 on Thursday-Saturday. Adoptions end one half hour prior to closing each day.

Ava's adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
