The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Week is Aubree.  She is a two year old Plott Hound/Labrador mix that is zippy and lively. Aubree will need someone who will provide her with physical and mental outlets for her energy. She will do best in a home with adults or older children due to her size (64 lbs) and zest for life. Aubree is one of the lucky ones who came from Blue Mt. Humane Society to the Oregon Humane Society through the Second Chance Program.  Aubree’s adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance and plenty of post adoption support!

Meet with her at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are 10-7 Sun-Wed and 10-9 Thurs-Sat. Adoption hours are 10-6:30 Sun-Wed and 10-8:30 Thurs-Sat. Availability is subject to prior adoption.

Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside at Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club, 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. OHS dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Here they romp and play all day with the other dogs in doggy daycare so they might be a great fit with your canine family members! Cats are also available at this location. They live in “colony” rooms with fellow felines. Visiting and adoption hours for dogs and cats are 10-6 Monday-Friday; and 10-4 Saturday-Sunday at the Westside Adoption Center.

Every Tuesday the Oregon Humane Society offers an adoption special for people age 60 and up. A select group of 20 pets will be available for adoption to seniors at no charge every Tuesday. All other pets will have their adoption fees reduced by $50 when they are adopted by individuals over 60 on Tuesday.
