The Oregon Humane Society's Dog of the Day is Alfie. This little Terrier mix is an active fellow that will do best with a canine companion as he really does love to be with another dog for a friend. He needs lots of exercise and does great on hikes and outdoor adventures of most any kind. Alfie is happy to be your daily walking or jogging partner. His past owners took him camping, hiking in Forest Park and the Columbia Gorge and to the beach. He loves to go for car rides. Alfie is very smart and trainable and loves to please his owners, however if left to his own for too long of a time he may find something to do that is less desirable. He knows sit, stay, down, heel, walks well on a leash and will greet visitors politely. Alfie has also learned to wait for his food and to take treats gently. He cannot be in a home with a cat, but in his last home lived with four chickens and was indifferent to them! He is a great dog that will bring the right family a lot of joy and love. He loves to sit by your feet when you watch TV so he can be a part of the family also! A training consultation is included prior to his adoption.
Alfie’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
