Alex needs to be the only pet in the home with older dog savvy children. She likes comfy places to sleep on and would be happy to join you on the couch! She's a nice lady!

The Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day is Alex. She is an adorable older German Shepherd mix looking looking for a special home to spend her golden years. She still gets around just fine, but is not as young as she used to be! Stairs and long walks may be more difficult for her these days, but a comfy couch will do just fine. She still enjoys taking walks, and she loves to play, just not quite as much as when she was younger. Due to her age, and that she doesn’t like fast movements, she will need a home with older, mature children. Alex also need to be the only pet in the home as other dogs scare her and she will chase cats. If you are ready to be her best friend, she is ready to be your best friend.  You can meet with Alex at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland. Visiting hours are 10-7 on Sunday through Wednesday; and 10-9 on Thursday through Saturday. Adoption time ends one half hour prior to closing each day.

Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.
