Albert is the Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Day. He is a five year old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador mix who is a sweet and loving fellow that can't wait to find his new best friend in life. This big, strong man is looking for a place to call his own and a companion who will spend time with him.  Albert would enjoy going places with you and becoming familiar with his new surroundings with you by his side. He is a big fellow weighing 101 lbs, but can be very be very gentle as he sits for treats, but because of his size when he gets excited his zest for life can show. We recommend mature dog savvy children for Albert so they can handle his enthusiasm and will be able to also work with him on training. He would do best without cats due to his breed. Albert's a handsome fellow and has a personality that makes you want to take him home. When you meet with him, he will begin to capture your heart and make you ask yourself how you ever lived without him. Albert came to us from Bonnie Hayes Shelter through as a part of our Second Chance Program to assist him in find his forever home. A medical consult is included prior to his adoption. You can meet with him at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland 503-285-7722. Viewing hours are Sun-Wed 10-7; Thurs-Sat 10-9. Adoption hours are Sun-Wed 10-6:30; Thurs-Sat-10-8:30.

Albert’s adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS ID tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support! Availability is subject to prior adoption.

Dogs are also available at the Oregon Humane Society’s Westside Adoption Center located inside of Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club located at 6100 SW Macadam Ave., Portland. If you want know if your potential new best friend gets along with other dogs, this is the place to visit. Oregon Humane Society dogs spend their days in a large group area alongside other dogs in a doggie day care facility. Cats are also available for adoption here; all cats live in "colony rooms" with their fellow felines. Viewing and adoption hours for both dogs and cats are Monday-Friday 10-6; Saturday-Sunday 10-4.

Every Tuesday the Oregon Humane Society offers an adoption special for people age 60 and up. A select group of 15 pets will be available for adoption to seniors at no charge every Tuesday. All other pets will have their adoption fees reduced by $50 when they are adopted by individuals over 60 on Tuesday. If a perfect match cannot be found among the 15 free pets, all other pets at the shelter will be $50 off the listed adoption fee, only for individuals 60 years of age or older
