The ghoulishness and gore is growing this year as The Portland Halloween Bazaar begins its takeover of Oaks Park.
Located under the shadow of the Portland Mausoleum up the hill, across the murky swamps of Oaks Bottom, the giant tent at oaks Park will host a haunting herd of regional crafters, performers and artists on Sunday, October 10.
Entertainment will include live sketches from Portland's Uncle Eerie's Shiver Show, a Voodoo Doughnuts Wedding, Monster Burlesque and a huge free craft zone for all sponsored by Portland's Paper Zone.
A big shout out to organizers Jack maraglia and Jayne Hollenbeck, whom I've worked with several times in the past - believe me, they truly live the Portland Halloween all year round!
Also on the scene will be The Coffin Cruisers, Portland and Vancouver's hearse club, the Driven Dead Car Club, featuring classic dark rides from the 50s and early 60s plus The Black Impala from the CW's Supernatural.
A new exhibit this year from the Oregon Historical Society showcases Hallowe'ens of Oregon's past.
The event also helps benefit Friends of the Lone Fir foundation, helping with the upkeep and preservation of Oregon's only cemetery in the national historic registry. Sponsors include Dark Horse Comics, Viso Beverage, Creepy Cult Printing and Voodoo Doughnut.
