Having survived after a couple (years) of the famed BENDER, this year looks bigger and badder than ever, if your idea of fun consists of loud, trashy garage punk and roll performed in a divey rock club under the freeway amid February's grey Portland skies.
"Three days to kill" is this year's theme - which works on many levels, if you think about it.
There's art on the walls and pinball too. And on some days I question if every single event/festival/show/crawl/happening in Portland also incorporating live music and tall boys of Pabst ends up being exactly the same with different names. But it's the lineups that indeed kill the three days of the Bender.
And afterwards you'll want to crawl into nice cozy crypt, or at least sleep for a week if you're old like me.
The legendary Holly Golightly headlines Friday night. Listen here
Saturday will see the return of Pat Todd and the Rank Outsiders to Portland. Last played in town as the Lazy Cowgirls. Not to miss.
