It's never too early in the week for a concert, though sometimes Monday feels that way. Minneapolis faves (now based in NYC) The Hold Steady hit the stage at the Crystal Ballroom last night, not letting a small crowd keep them down. Maybe it was just the fact that the previous night they played a "dry" college campus, but the band brought its legendary energy all night.
Plenty of other good shows coming up this week.... like Feist tonight (which I now hear is sold out), Suzanne Vega (Aladdin) and Minus the Bear (Crystal Ballroom) Thursday, and local rockers Stars of Track and Field Friday night at the Doug Fir - I saw one of their last shows at the Fir, and it rocked.
Saturday brings Great Northern at the Doug Fir and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers at Berbati's. So get out there and see a show.
