Hello Beaverton! Welcome to the 90s!
OK, so I'm giving a bit of guff to Billy Corgan of (the re-ressurrected) Smashing Pumpkins - but a young Beaverton drummer got kind of a cool chance at the big time.
Corgan held tryouts this srpring and has just announced 19-year-old Mike Byrne as the new drummer.
He played in bands Moses and Smell the Roses.

So obviously he's into winning the contests.
"I think I have my drummer of the future. I've worked with him so far for one week and all indications are really good that he's the man for the job," Corgan said.
