Soapboxes and pinball

I have to agree with the Mercury - the Portland Adult Soapbox Derby is the "funnest" event of the summer around here,
Cruising up and down the pathway meeting friends I haven't seen in months, checking out coolers and leaping out of the way when the "CLEAR THE TRACK" sbullhorns blar, and of course the creative and speedy cars winding their way down.
After party at the Tonic Lounge on Sandy.

Meanwhile - at Slabtown it's the pinball SHOWDOWN AT SLABTOWN!

Pinball wizzes, dirty rock and roll and more at 16th and Marshall in NW.
Friday August 21
Showdown Tournament - Open Qualifying: 3pm - 12am

Saturday August 22:
Showdown Tournament - Open Qualifying: 12pm - 12am
Doors to show: 7pm
Street Tournament: 7pm - 12am (one entry with show admission)

Sunday August 23
Showdown Tournament: 1pm (top sixteen entries)

Showdown Tournament (to qualify; unlimited entries): 1 ticket - $3; 4 tickets - $10
Entering the Showdown tournament covers admission for Saturday night's show.
