SCOTTSDALE, Az. -- It really is the hottest ticket in a hot town.
Since arriving in Arizona, I've been stopped on the street several times by people asking randomly "got an extra ticket"? Everyone wants to go to the BCS Championship game.
Yet about half the Ducks fans I've spoken with here in Scottsdale don't even have tickets to the game. Some just came down for the sun and the scene. Others really believe they will somehow score a ticket at the last minute.
One local isn't taking that chance. The operator of an upscale shop at the Fashion Plaza, right across from the Bud Light Fiesta where most of the pre-game festivities are happening, posted an enormous sign in is front shop window: "Will pay $3,500 for game ticket."
On eBay, good tickets have drawn bids up to $15,000.
But empty-handed duck fans like Jack Behrens have a simpler and more affordable strategy: They're just hoping to find a good seat at a local sports bar.
