Oregon's top male distance runners put on a show for the hometown crowd Friday night at the Olympic Trials.
UO All American Galen Rupp, who's main event is the 10,000, couldn't resist smoking the last lap of his 5,000 heat, waving a "number one" as he pulled away to win.
Meanwhile, Adam Goucher, who moved to Oregon with his wife Kara to train under Alberto Salazar in Nike's Oregon Project, ran under control in his heat of the 5,000 meters under unusually hot Eugene weather. Goucher, whose heat featured 1500 and 5000 meter 2007 World Champion Bernard Lagat, cruised to advance to the 5000 meter final on Monday.
