Looking for something fun on the west side of the Cascades on a warm summer day?

Try rappelling a waterfall with Cascade-Canyon.com. I met owner Matt Moore on our spring trip to Moab, UT where he guides canyoneering trips in the redrock. He mentioned then that he also guides here in Oregon during the summer months. So Robyn and I went out with friends Wes and Melonie for a little canyoning Oregon style. Just add water. :)

Here's a link to my bride Robyn descending an 80-foot waterfall... with style points at the end!

I've never had so much fun recreating on the west side of the Cascades as I did Sunday! The image below is at the bottom of an 80-foot waterfall that we all rappelled down. Yes, we're wearing wet suits. Two in fact. The water is cold!

This shot below shows the last of our three rappels. This one has the option of getting off the rope about two-thirds of the way down the 35-foor waterfall and hanging out on the ledge. And then jumping into the deep pool below. Fun!

Matt's here for another month or so before he heads back to Moab. This is a great way to see some of western Oregon's beautiful and not very easily accessible canyons.

Happy Trails,

Matt Zaffino
