Blazers rookie Greg Oden will address the local media for the first time since undergoing successful microfracture surgery nearly 2 weeks ago. He'll talk about his experience of not being able to play....as well as his plans to rehab the knee.
Since we wait with baded breath for 'GO' to talk....we've had to result to plan "B".
Oden is like those old E.F. Hutton commericials...."When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen". It's the same with Portland's 19-year-old prodigy.
But to pass the time by without basketball, the big fella went a very nice route....and got himself a puppy. The name is absolutely hilarious too! He named his Beagle/Boston mix...."Charles Barkley McLovin". I'm certain we have not heard the end of this. Somehow I know this will get back to the Chuckster...and it will make it's way on TNT's pre & post game shows this fall. Here's the shot of McLovin (one of characters in Oden's favorite movie "Super Bad"):
I have to admit....a very cute and wise move by GO. That should help pass the time and make him feel alot better. Puppies always do. In fact, I just got a new 'lil guy myself about 6 weeks ago. His name, fittingly, is Oden. I'll share the pic with you later.
