The Bulls are not a bad NBA team... but the Blazers made them look plain silly out there tonight.
As a result... Portland had their first win by more than 40 points in 9 long years.
Expectations are on the rise in the Rose City. The Blazers put together one of their best all-around efforts in the Nate McMillan era... they played superb defense--which is where it all starts... they distributed the basketball. Sergio Rodriguez played arguably his best game as a pro (9 assists in 24 mins). Sure, he had 6 turnovers... but many of those weren't his fault.
Oh, there was also the presence in the middle. Between Greg Oden (who had his second "double-double" in as many nights) and Joel Pryzbilla (14 pts / 9 rebs)... the Blazers continue to be a force to be reckowned with. A combined 25 points and 19 rebounds from the center position on Wednesday. That's what I call a dominant tandem. It gets players on the wing open to stick 3's. Oh, by the way, the Blazers only trail the Atlanta Hawks in 3-point percentage. It's another night of seeing the team grow before our eyes. To think, if they remain healthy, how much this team will improve-- it can be scary... in a very good way. The Kings are up next... as the Blazers head back out on the road for a pair of games this weekend.
