Not sure if I do it enough... but I loathe everything about Boston sports, sans the Bruins. Surely, they're next in line to win a title. Boston fans are passionate and very loyal, almost too much. But when it comes to the Patriots, Red Sox, and especially the Celtics losing....I get downright giddy!! Who in their wildest dreams would have seen tonight's outcome going the way it did?? I mean, no Brandon Roy... and the defending NBA champs coming off a 45 point beatdown of Sacramento on Sunday. Portland certainly didn't play their best game... but defensively they did just enough to pull out a 91-86 win--- their 20th of the season! This will put a smile on my face until Boston loses again. One of the burning questions I keep thinking about is 'did the Blazers turn a corner' tonight? Surely they now know they can play amonst the big boys. More importantly, we saw a little fire out of Greg Oden. An emailer last week commented that "Oden hasn't developed that killer instinct". But tonight, we saw shades of it. Oden came up with his 11th double-double of the season---which leads the team---finishing with 13 points and 11 rebounds. A win like this can do wonders for a young team like Portland, but you hope there is no hangover when they take on the Hornets on Friday. And let's hope Roy's hammy is on the mend.... with him in the lineup certainly bolsters their chances at taking down New Orleans. Until next year my friends!!

Oh, one more thing, Kevin Garnett... PUT A CORK IN IT! He disturbs me more than Rasheed Wallace...and I never thought that was possible! Have a Happy New Year everyone!
