The Clippers have been the laughing stock of the NBA for as long as I can remember. For the first 3 quarters on Monday night, it was no laughing matter--the Blazers were in for a fight. Playing without 5 of their best players, the Clippers reserves were matching the Blazers point-for-point for most of the night. That is until Eric Gordon came down with a serious throwdown on LaMarcus Aldridge. It gave the LAC's a 2-point edge. At that point, Brandon Roy basically said, "this is my world, and the rest of you are just living in it". He came in with the dunk of his young NBA career... taking it straight down the lane... and posterizing 7-1" center Cheikah Samb. If you haven't seen it, it will undoubtedly be featured in a Blazers promo soon (just a hunch).
Portland absolutely took over from that point forward.. outscoring L.A. 36 to 15 in the 4th quarter. Roy had 33 to lead all scorers.
Former Blazer Zach Randolph, Marcus Camby and Baron Davis combined for 77 points and 29 rebounds in Los Angeles' 120-112 double-overtime win at Portland on Dec. 12. Tonight, it was a good thing none of them were involved in this one.
The Blazers return home for a home date with the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, then get ready to welcome in the Jazz for the first time this season on Saturday night.
