What a Blazers game today. First when it was 77-60 Blazers, I thought it would be an easy win. Then, after a 37-7 run for the Knicks, New York led 97-84 and I thought the Blazers were probably going to lose. Finally, four seconds and change left and the Blazers down one with the ball, I didn't know what to think. Brandon Roy gets the ball...drives to the hoop and lays in the game winning basket at the buzzer to win it 109-108.
I think Brandon Roy is amazing.
We could see it his Rookie season two years ago. Brandon is a special player. He is blessed with amazing ability, but he has that something that the truly great players have. It's the nack do to the right thing at the right time. He also has a way of making his teammates better and Brandon is a team player and clearly thinks about winning first.
"We just kept fightin," Brandon told us after the game. "I mean look at the stat sheet. LaMarcus(Aldridge) made some big shots. Travis(Outlaw) made some big shots and Greg did some good things defensively and offense. So we just dug in and we never quit and that's the thing I'm most proud of our team."
Blazer fans should be proud too. A great season keeps getting better.
