The Oregonian's John Canzano was right on with his column in today's paper regarding Greg Oden. And unless it's something much more serious, I'd like to see Oden suprise us all and get out there on the floor and try to play through the pain. Of course, nobody-- except for Oden--- knows exactly how that knee feels with every step.
On the heals of JC's column came word today that Oden was evaluated again today (Monday) and will now miss the next 7-10 days before being re-evaluated. That pretty much eliminates him from the upcoming stretch where Portland plays 5 of next 6 games at home. And, if he does come back in 10 days--- and that's a BIG IF at this point--- the centerpiece to the Blazers future would then have just 17 regular season games left.
But, I just don't think we're being told everything with this injury. It's been pretty puzzling that nobody wants to comment on the actual problem. A chipped bone in his knee should have healed by now... but swelling continues to arise. Dare I say the word here? The word that begins with "micro" and ends with "fracture".
