Gathering the Vote

No matter which candidate you back, one thing I think we can all agree on is this election certainly has been interesting and engaging.

Our family sat around the TV eating pizza watching the most recent debate.

I am sure many of your families did the same.

My teenagers were riveted the entire 90 minutes.

It's gratifying to see our young people so interested in what the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates have to say.

They realize our nation is facing an unprecedented crisis and that this election is one of the most important in history.

I have two daughters who will vote for the first time in a Presidential election. My other two teenagers are equally as interested.

Never has it been more critical for our youth to realize the importance of their vote, and to be educated about the issues facing our nation.

What we do about our economy will affect them and quite possibly their children.

So gather around your TV and get out the vote.

And remember, Newschannel 8 is your home for Decision 2008, your only local television station offering a 30 minute news program all about politics... and among the very few in the country.

Join Tracy and me each weeknight at 7pm.

This election is about all of us and our families.
