Nautilus taps two NFL legends to help ailing company
03:29 PM PDT on Wednesday, September 12, 2007
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Nautilus Inc. announced Wednesday that it is tapping Brett Favre and Dick Butkus to help promote its Bowflex products.
It remains to be seen if they will help the Vancouver-based fitness equipment maker's bottom line.
Favre is quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Butkus is an NFL Hall of Fame linebacker.
Nautilus has been struggling recently. In July, the company reported second quarter net income dropped from $1.7 million to $1.1 million and that sales dropped 15 percent. In August, Gregg Hamman, president and chief executive officer stepped down after a disappointing financial performance.
