PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Seattle venture capital firm is looking to make some inroads into the Oregon market.
Voyager Capital partners has just opened up a new office in Portland.
Company officials say they hope to fund at least two Oregon companies each year.
Venture capitalism -- seed money for startup companies -- hasn't had much of a foothold in Oregon.
The state has historically attracted venture capital at half the rate of the nation as a whole on a per capita bases.
But Voyager Capitol managers say they think the state is poised to be the next technology hotspot.
