Hynix job fair draws recruiters from far and wide

EUGENE, Ore. -- Recruiters from as far away as Virginia, North Carolina, Texas and Utah flocked to Eugene this week to try and lure some of the soon-to-be laid-off workers from the Hynix plant there.

Many were on the lookout for the company's 65 highly-educated engineers.
Job opportunities seemed to be less readily available for the more than 800 Hynix technicians who will soon lose their jobs, though.
Workers who were hoping to stay in Oregon were drawn to the table manned by Hillsboro-based SolarWorld.
The German company, is rolling out the largest solar component making plant in North America at Hillsboro.
The plant is gearing up and is expected to reach full operations by October. Plans call for hiring a few hundred more employees.
