Six Starbucks in Oregon and 19 in Washington will shut down as part of a plan by the coffee giant to close 600 underperforming stores in the United States.
Of those, three are located in Portland. The Starbucks at 1864 SE Hawthorne Blvd., the store at 11860 SE 82nd Avenue in Avenue and the Starbucks at 2045 SE Division Street will close in the coming weeks.

In addition, the Starbucks stores at 18000 NW Evergreen Parkway, in Beaverton; 1887 NW 188th Avenue, in Hillsboro; and 1701 Wilson River Loop Road, in Tillamook, will close, according to a list released by company officials.
Starbucks still plans to open new stores in fiscal 2009, but on Tuesday it cut that number in half to fewer than 200. The company did not adjust its plan to open fewer than 400 stores in 2010 and 2011.
