The German-based airline is trying to cut costs worldwide as it deals with declining demand. The PDX-Frankfurt flights started in 2003.
They will end service September 12th.
"Our hope is that as the economy improves, Lufthansa will resume its service to PDX," Port of Portland spokesperson Martha Crawford RIchmond said.
The move is expected to give Delta's Portland-Amsterdam direct service a boost in business.
