Starbucks settles suit over bipolar barista

SEATTLE -- Starbucks agreed to pay $85,000 to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit brought after the company fired a Seattle barista with bipolar disorder.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission had accused the company of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Most of the money goes to Christiana Drake who was told she was not "Starbucks material" even after the company gave her more than two years of extra training and support.
As part of the settlement, Starbucks will give manager more training and give the EEOC information about disability discrimination complaints.
