NEWBERG -- A boutique hotel opening this September in Newberg will have a three-day job fair starting today, hoping to fill 200 positions ranging from massage therapists to maintenance experts to sous chefs.

“We expect many many applicants,”  Olga Haley, spokeswoman for the The Allison Inn & Spa said.

General manager Pierre Zreik said the hotel will be an economic boon not just to Newberg to the communities where his future employees now live. Zreik was general manager of downtown Portland’s Heathman Hotel for three years and opened the Avalon Hotel & Spa here in 2001. 

The job fair is at Joan Austin Elementary School , 2200 N. Center St.. in Newberg. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 19th and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the 20th.

The hotel  plans to open in September with 85 rooms on 35 acres with gardens, walking paths and vineyards.
