VANCOUVER, Wash. -- The City of Vancouver and Port Officials will discuss the city's attempt to get state funding for a redevelopment of the waterfront a the port's monthly meeting.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
The city is seeking $12.5 million over 25 years to help finance road and rail improvements to the former Boise Cascade site.
The money would come through a form of tax increment financing, where tax revenues generated by the project are used to slowly pay off road and rail debt.
City officials will explain to port commissioners the financing program and its application for the money.
