Some have a beef with Burgerville's plans for beer and wine

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- You may soon get a brew with your beef at one of the Northwest’s favorite fast-food joints.
Burgerville officials applied for a beer and wine license at the new Salmon Creek restaurant in Vancouver, Washington.
Company owners said there could also be plans for alcohol sales at the chain’s 39 stores around the Northwest.
“It's a great place to eat,” customer Jane Yii said. “It's the best food in the area up here and to be able to eat here and have beer or wine and walk back home because I live around the block, it's great.”
But not every burger enthusiast was excited about the new menu options, however.
The group Oregon Partnership worried it could lead to trouble, since the restaurants employ underage workers.
“Fast food restaurants are filled with young customers and young employees,” Pete Schulberg, Oregon Partnership’s Communication Director said. “That’s a mix you don’t want when you are considering the sale of alcohol.”
In Oregon and Washington, it is legal for 18 year olds to take orders for and serve alcohol.
