We're stretching your dollar 365 days a year! Bankrate.com says the calendar can be your best friend when it comes to finding deals, so let's break down down what to buy when to get the most for your money.

In January you'll find deals on air conditioners. Buy bicycles for typically less than you'll pay during the spring and summer.

In February-- when it's chilly-- think warm thoughts if you want to buy a boat. Also look for bar-b-que bargains on gas grills.

Lo and behold in March-- boats are still generally cheaper than other months.

Come April and spring fever-- get your tires and auto supplies before summer travel. It's also not a bad time to look at real estate.

In May, it's another good month if buying or selling a home is in your future. And in that new home how about a new flatscreen tv? Bankrate.com says may is a good month for that major purchase.

In June the savings on those flat screens are still in effect.

Come July think computers.

Come August think computers. Those two summer months generally bring high tech savings.

By September-- the end of the year is in sight. It's a great time to buy a new car. Dealers have an eye toward clearing out lots for newer models.

In October Bankrate.com says your neighborhood appliance store is a good place to shop for deals on washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves.

And right now-- November-- is just the time for a little home pick-me-up.

"It's a good time to buy," says John Duty with Don Frank Floor Covering. He says prices are good on carpet and tile, because the mills are caught up from the summer and it's time to make room for 2009 inventory.

"What's hot? Cork," says John, "Natural products, renewable, recyclable. Carpet wise, people are going back to the 70s. Your lime greens and rusty oranges are big right now."

Big in December? Sale prices on lots of things. Flat screen TVs make a reappearance as does carpet and flooring.

So no matter what the month, shopping by the calendar is a great way to stretch your dollar. The Bankrate.com calendar also includes flowers and greenery for your garden.
