"That's what I love about writing this blog. I found so many resources," Amy says.

We caught up with her at the Stumptown coffee shop near her day job so she could show us what she does once she's off the clock.

"I wanted to find out how I could make my paycheck go as far as it could it go and still have a life, but also save for the future."

And that's how her blog "Around the Sun" rose from an idea to reality.

"Around the Sun" compiles everything in the Portland metro area Amy can find for frugal living, from transportation to entertainment.

"Free events, discounts on event happening all the time.. from community-oriented festivals to the Portland Art Museum and OMSI," says Amy.

She updates several times a week, basically doing the hard work for you by sifting through everything that comes her way. Her philosophy is simple and smart: live below your means and save the rest-- stretching your dollar advice that makes sense.
