Valley rain and heavy mountain snow this weekend.

Then snow levels drop near the valley floor Monday.

Cold temperatures have made for dry, flaky wonderful ski and snowboarding snow in the Cascades. They heavy snow starts tomorrow morning with 2 feet expected through the day.

Blowing snow may create blizzard conditions, so be prepared and extra careful if driving or recreating in the Cascades this weekend.

Sunday brings a steady cold rain for the valleys with the snow level around 2,000 to 2,500 feet.

The snow level drops back to near 500 feet Monday as the showers are decreasing. May get snow showers in Portland and the valley floor, but I don't think it sticks to roads. Hills around town may see a trace to 1 inch.

Have a great weekend!
