EUGENE, Ore. – Ducks freshman forward Troy Brown Jr. is one and done at Oregon.

Brown on Tuesday told Ducks head coach Dana Altman about his intention to declare for the 2018 NBA Draft, according to a news release from the university.

"Troy called me shortly after 1 p.m. today and informed me that he has decided to declare for the NBA Draft. I told Troy we fully support his decision, and wish him the best," Altman sad in the release. "We really enjoyed working with Troy this year. He is a terrific young man and we look forward to the next chapter of his career in the NBA."

Brown averaged 11.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game last season for the Ducks. The former five-star prospect is the first player in program history to declare for the draft his freshman season, the university said.

"I enjoyed my time at Oregon but I feel I'm ready now to take this next step," Brown told ESPN, who first reported his departure.

Brown is projected to be a first-round pick.
