Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard was the target of homophobic slurs from two fans as he was walking to the team bus following Monday night’s 108-107 loss in Minnesota, according to a report by ESPN.

Cell phone video captured Lillard approaching the fans and asking, “What’d you say? Which one of y’all said that?”

The Blazers were coming off a 108-107 loss to the Timberwolves when the incident occurred.

Lillard tweeted about the encounter after the game.

Athlete Ally executive director Hudson Taylor issued a statement. “The use of these homophobic slurs have no place in sports or society. Fan sections remain one of the most unsafe places for the LGBTQ community, and will remain so if these slurs aren’t met with condemnation and continued education.”
