PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Trail Blazers sent power forward Noah Vonleh to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday before the NBA trade deadline in order to avoid the luxury tax.

Portland receives the rights to Milocan Rakovic, an international player drafted in 2007, and cash. The trade will move the Blazers below the luxury tax threshold.

Portland revealed Wednesday before the deadline that they wouldn't be trading star guard CJ McCollum.

Multiple reports indicated the Blazers also shopped Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard before the deadline, and that the team had discussed trade scenarios involving Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, but nothing came to fruition with those potential deals.
