The Portland Winterhawks fell 4-1 in Kamloops Friday to the Blazers.
The Blazers' Cole Ully scored the lone goal of the first period midway through the frame as Kamloops took a 1-0 lead into the second period.
Sixteen seconds into the second the Blazers made it 2-0 on a power play goal from Mike Winther, then extended the lead to 3-0 when Luke Harrison scored at the 4:28 mark. Portland got on the board at the 10:52 mark when defenseman Keoni Texeira scored his second of the season to cut the deficit to 3-1 going into the third.
Kamloops went up 4-1 at the 6:02 mark of the third on a goal by Jake Kryski, which stood as the final.
Portland outshot Kamloops 42-33 in the loss.
The Hawks (9-12-0-3) are back in action Friday when they travel to Kelowna to take on the league-leading Rockets.
