COWLITZ COUNTY, Wash.-- A car accident on I5 Saturday evening sent a man to the hospital in critical condition.
Cowlitz County Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at 5:54 on North bound Interstate 5 near mile post 44. Dispatch received the report of a car that hydroplaned, lost control, and spun off the highway onto the shoulder and striking a tree.
Upon arrival, crews found the passenger car had suffered heavy damage, and the 40 year old male driver was in critical condition with a head injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Peace Health St, John's Medical Center, and later transferred to Peace Health South West Medical Center for surgery.
No other injuries were reported.
