VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Washington State Patrol troopers were questioning two motorists Thursday morning after multiple calls from drivers reporting a road rage incident.

The calls, which started about 9 a.m., included the presence of a gun and vehicles ramming.

The incident began on SR14 near I-205, with the suspects driving west, reaching I-5, according to the WSP.

One of the drivers was on the phone with WSP and said the other driver had a gun. Despite repeated requests by dispatchers to stop, the driver kept up the rage driving.

The WSP reported about 10 a.m. that the chase had ended after the drivers took the 78th Street exit on I-5. The two were taken into custody. No gun was found.

Matthew D. Champagne, 36, of Canby, and Kaio Vaigafa, 27, of Portland, were accused of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Vaigafa was also driving with a suspended license.
